History of Ayubia National Park

Ayubia National Park was established in 1984 and named after Pakistan’s second President, Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan. The purpose of the park was to conserve the unique Himalayan temperate forests, protect wildlife and preserve the watersheds that supply fresh water to nearby communities.

Today the park is one of Pakistan’s best-managed protected areas and plays an important role in conservation, scientific research and eco-tourism.
