Malam Jabba

Malam Jabba – Pakistan’s Premier Ski Resort

Malam Jabba is Pakistan’s best-known ski resort and one of the country’s leading mountain destinations. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,800 metres (9,200 feet) in the beautiful Swat Valley, Malam Jabba offers spectacular views of the Hindu Kush Mountains, dense pine forests, snow-covered slopes and fresh mountain air throughout the year.

While famous for winter skiing and snowboarding, Malam Jabba has become an all-season destination. During spring, summer and autumn, visitors enjoy chairlift rides, ziplining, hiking, mountain biking, photography and peaceful walks through forests and alpine meadows.

Its close proximity to Mingora and Islamabad makes Malam Jabba one of Pakistan’s most accessible mountain resorts.

History of Malam Jabba

Malam Jabba was developed during the 1980s as Pakistan’s first modern ski resort. The project included ski slopes, ski lifts and accommodation facilities designed to promote winter sports in the country.

The resort suffered significant damage during the unrest in Swat between 2007 and 2009. After peace returned, major restoration work was carried out by the Government of Pakistan and private investors. Today, Malam Jabba has been completely redeveloped into a modern tourist destination featuring improved infrastructure, hotels, restaurants, ski facilities and adventure activities.

Thousands of visitors now travel to Malam Jabba every winter to enjoy skiing and snowfall, while summer visitors come for the cool climate and spectacular scenery.
