Historically, Passu lay on one of the ancient Silk Road routes connecting China, Central Asia and South Asia. Traders travelling with caravans crossed nearby mountain passes carrying silk, jade, spices and precious stones.
The opening of the Karakoram Highway transformed Passu into one of Pakistan’s premier mountain tourism destinations while allowing visitors easier access to this once isolated valley.

How to Plan Your Tour from Islamabad
By Air
Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit and continue along the Karakoram Highway to Passu. The drive from Gilgit takes approximately three to four hours.
